Fish Print/Collage on Wood Panel - Pink Filigree Fish
A once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Great Barrier Reef with my sweetie inspired this fish artwork. These fantastical fishes are a blend of my fascination with the natural world and my love of paper and pattern.
I create my own species with scraps of paper from my hoard: everything from origami paper I've had since I was a kid, to recycled wrapping paper, to art papers collected from many sources.
This panel is made from a reproduction of an original collage, printed on fine art paper with UV-resistant archival ink. I add accents and embellishments with acrylic paint, mount it to a sturdy wooden panel, and seal it off with a coat of acrylic gel medium. The edge is finished with decorative paper. Comes ready to hang with attached hardware.
