A once-in-a-lifetime snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier Reef inspired these fantastical fish. They are a blend of my fascination with the natural world and my love of paper and pattern.
I create my own species with scraps of paper from my hoard: everything from origami paper I've had since I was a kid, to recycled wrapping paper, to art papers collected from many sources. These pieces are made using prints of my original collages.
Each fish is an archival-quality art print mounted on sustainably sourced 1/4" thick laser-cut baltic birch wood, finished with a coat of acrylic gel. Edges are trimmed with a fun decorative paper border.
Sizes vary slightly, but each measures roughly 7 inches wide x 3 inches tall. Fish come ready to hang via sawtooth hanger mounted on the back.
